One Couple One Lawyer
This is where the husband and wife agree as regards the financial settlement. There is no need to instruct separate lawyers.
This straightforward process will enable both parties to move on without the fear of being taken to court for money in the years that follow. It provides peace of mind.

We will:
- Start the divorce proceedings for you – our fixed fee is £499 + VAT plus a court fee of £593 making a total of £1,191.80.
- Prepare all the paperwork to submit to court so that you obtain a final consent order which is binding for life. Prices start from £999 + VAT.
- 01 Suitable where you and your ex agree the split of financial matrimonial assets
- 02 One lawyer acts for you and your ex
- 03 The agreement is drafted and sent to the court for approval
- 04 If the court’s opinion is that the agreement is basically fair, the agreement is turned into a binding order

- 03 You instruct a solicitor and so does your ex
- 04 Both solicitors negotiate and an agreement is reached
- 05 Usually 2 or 3 meetings between the solicitors is required
- 06 Once an agreement is reached it is sent to the court for approval
- 07 If the court’s opinion is that the agreement is basically fair, the agreement is turned into a binding order

Solicitor to Solicitor Settlement
This is where the husband and wife do not agree on a settlement but they want to avoid going to court.
Each party instructs a separate lawyer from separate law firms.
The lawyers agree to work to reach a settlement out of court.

Option #3
Solicitor to Solicitor plus Mediator
This is where the divorcing couple cannot agree a financial settlement, and each instructs a lawyer to represent them.
Again, it is usually always best to keep the case out of court.
A mediator can be appointed by both sides and will help to facilitate the parties coming to an agreement.
The mediator is usually a barrister who will be neutral and advise how a judge would split the finances.

- Negotiate a settlement with your ex’s solicitor and instruct a mediator to help the process.
- Once a settlement has been agreed, prepare all the paperwork to submit to court so that you obtain a final consent order which is binding for life. Prices start from £2,999 + VAT.
- 01 A mediator is a neutral person, usually a barrister, who acts as an advisor and go between
- 02 Suitable for you and your ex where you do not agree on the financial split and you are not communicating
- 03 The relationship may have broken down completely and there is tension between you and your ex
- 04 Meetings are arranged and you and your ex are in different rooms
- 05 Arrival and departure times are staggered so you and your ex do not meet
